Dr. Edward Tavel has been practicing medicine for over 30 years. He earned his undergraduate degree from Davidson College in North Carolina and his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina. After completing medical school, Dr. Tavel completed his residency training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was selected as Chief Resident in his final year.
Throughout his 30-year medical career, Dr. Tavel has held multiple leadership roles, including serving on the Medical Executive Committee and as a managing partner of South Carolina’s largest privately held anesthesiology group. He has also been extensively involved in medical research, coauthoring numerous papers and presentations—some of which are attached.
